Information

Sōkan means dual perspective, the ability to hold two opposing viewpoints at the same time. Power and restraint. Attack and defence. Two forces working not against each other, but with each other. The thinking behind Duality — colours, Hokusai, and the concept of opposing forces.

The indigo blue draws from samurai combat culture worn as under-armour, a symbol of loyalty and steadfastness. The white comes from Shinto tradition representing purity and spiritual clarity.

Each shirt includes a booklet exploring the concept behind Duality. For anyone who connects with the culture. No gatekeeping.

Shisa are traditional guardian figures originating from Okinawa, Japan. In Okinawan mythology, shisa are protective beings that ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune.

We blend martial arts tradition with contemporary design, drawing from budo philosophy and Japanese aesthetics. Timeless clothing produced in small batches. Intentional production that's built to last.
